A youth engagement session was organized at the Degan Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Center in Kombolcha to create a platform for young people to discuss issues affecting their safety, well-being, and participation in community life.
The discussion focused on critical issues including Gender-Based Violence (GBV), pathways for accessing essential services, and the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for vulnerable groups. Participants shared their experiences and perspectives and discussed ways to strengthen awareness, protection, and access to appropriate support services.
In addition to the GBV-related discussion, the session included an orientation on the fundamentals of research report writing. Participants were introduced to key elements of a research report, including organizing information, presenting findings, and documenting observations in a clear and structured manner.
The engagement provided an opportunity for young people to strengthen their knowledge, share ideas, and participate actively in discussions concerning protection and community development. It also contributed to building their capacity to document issues affecting their communities and communicate evidence-based findings effectively.
