Save Your Generation Ethiopia (SYGE) was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Kirkos Sub-City Finance Office during a GO/NGO forum held on 1 June 2023.
The certificate recognized SYGE’s contribution to implementing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Including Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) Project activities in selected schools of Kirkos Sub-City from 2018 to 2022, with financial support from UNFPA.
Through the project, SYGE worked with school communities to strengthen awareness and prevention of SGBV and harmful traditional practices and to promote safer and more supportive environments for students. The activities contributed to strengthening the capacity of students, teachers, and other school stakeholders to understand, prevent, and respond to SGBV and HTP-related issues.
The recognition reflects SYGE’s commitment and contribution to SGBV prevention, community awareness, and the protection and well-being of women, girls, and young people.
SYGE expresses its appreciation to the Kirkos Sub-City Finance Office, UNFPA, government partners, school communities, and other stakeholders for their collaboration and support throughout the implementation of the project.
