Save Your Generation Ethiopia (SYGE) was awarded a certificate of recognition for its efforts in economic empowerment and the prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) against Women with Disabilities (WWDs) in the Amhara Region.
The recognition was given under the SGBV Including Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) Project, funded by UNFPA. The certificate acknowledges SYGE’s contribution to strengthening economic opportunities for women with disabilities and promoting measures to prevent and respond to SGBV affecting WWDs.
The certificate was awarded by the Amhara Region Women, Children and Social Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Amhara Region Women with Disabilities Association and Federation.
The recognition reflects the importance of collaborative efforts among government institutions, organizations of persons with disabilities, development partners, and civil society organizations in promoting the rights, dignity, safety, and economic empowerment of women with disabilities.
SYGE appreciates the recognition and remains committed to strengthening its efforts to prevent SGBV, empower women with disabilities economically, and promote inclusive and violence-free communities.
