A panel discussion was conducted among key stakeholders from school communities under the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Including Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) Project, funded by UNFPA.
The discussion brought together relevant school community stakeholders to exchange experiences, identify challenges, and explore practical solutions for preventing and responding to SGBV and harmful traditional practices affecting students and the wider school community.
Key issues discussed included the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in SGBV prevention, early identification and response to violence, referral and support mechanisms, creating safe school environments, and strengthening collaboration between schools, families, communities, and other relevant actors.
The panel provided an important platform for open dialogue, experience sharing, and joint problem-solving, while strengthening stakeholders’ commitment to coordinated SGBV and HTP prevention and response efforts within school communities.
