A Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) awareness training was conducted for employers in Yeka Woreda 9 under the SGBV Including Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs) Project.
The training aimed to strengthen employers’ knowledge and understanding of SGBV and HTPs, including their forms, causes, consequences, prevention, and appropriate response mechanisms. Participants discussed the importance of creating safe and respectful workplaces and their role in preventing violence and protecting employees from exploitation and abuse.
The training also provided an opportunity for employers to discuss workplace challenges, available support and referral services, reporting mechanisms, and practical approaches to preventing SGBV and HTPs.
The session contributed to strengthening employers’ awareness and commitment to promoting safe, gender-responsive, and violence-free working environments in Yeka Woreda 9.
