Addis Ababa — Save Your Generation Ethiopia (SYGE) conducted a community edutainment session at Shimeles Habte Secondary School to raise awareness among students and teachers on the prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and COVID-19.
The session used music and drama to communicate key messages on SGBV prevention in an engaging and accessible way. The performances encouraged students and teachers to understand the risks and impacts of SGBV and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in creating safe and supportive school environments.
The edutainment program also incorporated important COVID-19 prevention messages, emphasizing the importance of wearing face masks, using hand sanitizer, and maintaining appropriate physical distance to reduce the risk of transmission within the school community.
The school community actively participated in the session, demonstrating strong interest in both the SGBV prevention and COVID-19 protection messages. In total, the activity reached 1,732 students and teachers, comprising 724 males and 1,008 females.
