Sanitizer and Soap Provided to Nine Schools to Strengthen Hygiene and Protection

September 17, 2021

Addis Ababa — As part of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) prevention project funded by UNFPA, SYGE provided sanitizers and soap to nine targeted schools in Addis Ababa to strengthen hygiene, health, and protection measures within school communities.

The provision of these essential hygiene supplies supports schools in maintaining cleaner and safer learning environments for students, teachers, and other members of the school community. Access to basic hygiene materials is particularly important in promoting healthy practices and reducing health-related risks in crowded school settings.

The distribution also complements the project’s broader school-based interventions, which aim to create safe, supportive, and inclusive environments for children and young people. By strengthening schools’ access to essential supplies, the initiative contributes to improving preparedness and supporting the well-being of students and staff.

The activity demonstrates SYGE’s commitment to implementing integrated approaches that address protection, health, and well-being within schools. Continued collaboration with schools and partners such as UNFPA remains important to sustaining these efforts and strengthening safe learning environments across targeted communities.
