Save Your Generation Ethiopia (SYGE), an NGO working to support young people and promote safer communities, conducted a Drug and Substance Abuse Prevention Training at Addis Ketema School.
The training aimed to increase students’ awareness of the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and equip them with practical knowledge and life skills to make informed and healthy decisions. Participants discussed the risks associated with substance use, peer pressure, negative influences, and ways of resisting behaviors that can negatively affect their education, health, relationships, and future opportunities.
The session also encouraged students to communicate openly with teachers, parents, and other trusted adults when facing challenges or pressure related to substance use. School-based prevention and skills-building approaches are widely recognized as important components of efforts to reduce substance use among young people.
Through this initiative, SYGE continues to strengthen awareness, prevention, and life-skills education among students, contributing to safer and healthier school communities.
